NBC preemptively cancels 2014 lineup

NBC says it is canceling 10 freshman shows from its 2014 fall lineup. The dramatic shakeup comes just days after the network canceled two 2013 comedies, "Ironside" and "Welcome to the Family." The network is moreover considering canceling most of its 2015 lineup to avoid the rush. "Ever since we lost 'The Office' and '30 Rock,' things have been going downhill pretty fast," said a spokesperson for NBC. "The only idea we have left is a 'Parks and Recreation' spinoff about Ron Swanson's moustache working in a butcher shop. But we don't think that will play strongly with women. I guess we could mine 'Law & Order' a few more times." NBC has also expressed interest in the summer Olympic Games moving to the fall as an annual event.
